Settings

Settings let you configure your school's branding, kiosk devices, policies, and user accounts. Access Settings from the sidebar under Administration.

Branding

Settings → Branding

Customize how Branimi looks for your school:

  • Display Name — Your school name shown in the header and on the kiosk

  • Logo — Upload your school logo (appears in the header and on the kiosk idle screen)

  • Header Text Color — Adjust the text color in the top header bar

  • Timezone — Your school's timezone (e.g., America/Denver for Mountain Time). This affects how all dates and times are displayed, and how "today" is determined for clock-in/out calculations.

Important: Changing the timezone affects all date calculations going forward. Existing records are not retroactively recalculated.

Kiosk

Settings → Kiosk

Manage your kiosk tablet connections:

  • Set Up New Device — Generate a QR code and setup URL for a new tablet

  • Revoke Kiosk Access — Disconnect a tablet from the system

See the Kiosk Setup & Management guide for full details.

Policies

Settings → Policies

Configure school-wide policy settings:

  • Contract Buffer Hours — Extra hours added to the certification requirement when calculating class target end dates. Default is 30 hours. This accounts for expected absences, weather days, etc.

Example: If a student needs 300 hours to graduate and the buffer is 30, the target end date is calculated based on 330 hours of scheduled school days from the class start date.

Changing the buffer hours automatically recalculates the target end date for all classes that don't have a manual override.

Users

Settings → Users

Manage who has access to Branimi:

  • Invite — Send an invitation to a new user by email. They'll be able to sign in with Google after accepting.

  • Roles — Assign roles (Owner, Admin, Instructor) to control what each person can see and do.

  • Revoke — Remove a user's access.

See the Roles and Permissions section in the Getting Started guide for details on what each role can do.

Important: Be careful with role assignments. Owners have full control, including the ability to manage other users. Only assign the Owner role to people who need complete administrative access.
